In recent years the Erosion Control Industry has changed dramatically, and continues to do so. Rather than grouping all erosion control products into one category, a clear distinction has been made dividing products into two categories: re-vegetation or erosion control. Re-vegetation products are standard mulches comprised of paper and/or wood fibers; they are designed to protect the seed in its early stage of growth. Erosion control products provide additional protection by preventing soil runoff; they are designed to withstand extreme slopes and weather activity.
