This mixture was developed by the Ministry of Transportation for land reclamation along roadsides. The MTO mix is a blend of Creeping Red Fescue, Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass and White Clover. The White Clover and Perennial Ryegrass establishes quickly to provide cover while the slower Kentucky Bluegrass and Creeping Red Fescue fill in behind it. The resulting stand is excellent at preventing soil erosion and requires little to no maintenance.
