Base Mulch
Fibramulch has proudly supplied the Hydroseeding industry with quality hydraulic mulches for 50 years. Hydroseeding is the process of mixing and spraying a slurry comprised of hydraulic mulch, seed, fertilizer, water; and optionally bonding agents and soil amendments. Hydroseeding is a cost effective method of establishing vegetation. The hydraulic mulch prevents erosion, holds the seed in place, insulates the seed from temperature fluctuations, and absorbs water which gives the seed a more continuous and consistent amount of moisture to enhance germination. Hydroseeding allows you to quickly and cost-effectively cover areas as small as residential lawns to areas as large as mine sites.
Recently the Erosion Control Industry has divided hydraulic mulches into one of two categories: base mulch (re-vegetation) or high performance mulch (erosion control). “Re-vegetation” base mulches are the standard mulches comprised of paper and/or wood and/or straw fibers. These are your base hydraulic mulch options.

-
Can be purchased with or without tackifier in a "ready to use" bag. Ideal for general hydroseeding projects or as a tackifier for straw and hay mulches.
Profile Cellulose
100% cellulose fiber mixes in water at an accelerated rate and stays in suspension for more uniform consistency.
Longevity: ≦ 3 months
Slope: up to 3:1
(cellulose with tack)
-
Mixes in water at a high rate and stays in suspension, which allows for more uniform consistency and coverage. Non-toxic, environmentally safe and biodegradable. Available with Tack.
Profile Wood
100% wood fiber mulch that is Thermally Refined®
Longevity: ≦ 3 months
Slope: up to 3:1
(profile wood / profile wood with tack)
-
Made with a manufacturing process that introduces wood chips into steam heat within a high-temperature and high-pressure vessel to create long and highly absorbent fibers. Can be purchased with or without tackifier.
FibraWood
Wood hydraulic mulch is biodegradable, hydroseeding material made from thermally refined wood fibers. It creates a dense, interlocking mat that stabilizes soil, prevents erosion and creates a moist environment for fast seed germination.
Longevity: < 3 months
Slope: up to 3:1
Mesic Wood
Mesic is a versatile base mulch that stabilizes soil, prevents wind and water erosion.
Longevity: ≦ 3 months
Slope: up to 3:1
(mesic wood / mesic wood plus tack)
-
Mesic Wood Mulch is made from 100% virgin wood fibers. Mesic forms a protective mulch mat that aids in erosion control, holding the seeds in place and providing an excellent environment for seed germination.
HydroGold Blend
Canadian made, HydroGold Blend is an engineered natural fiber hydraulic mulch combining straw, wood, short hemp, and thermally refined Avena Sativa.
Longevity: ≦ 3 months
Slope: up to 3:1
(HydroGold blend/HydroGold blend +)
-
It provides uniform ground coverage to support seed germination and moisture retention. Ideal for general seeding applications and cost-effective erosion control.
Stretcher Mulch
A made in Canada fiber additive designed to extend mulch coverage and improve overall matrix performance. It enhances fiber interlocking, increases yield and improves spray consistency.
(HydroGold stretcher)
Profile Blend
Thermally Refined wood fiber mixed with cellulose fiber. The blend is both easy to mix and spray. Easy to use and load.
Longevity: ≦ 3 months
Slope: up to 3:1
