Soil Preparation

Soil preparation for hydroseeding/sod involves clearing debris, loosening the top 1-6 inches of soil and grading for a smooth, level surface to ensure maximum seed-to-soil contact. Ideal prep requires removing rocks/weeds, adding topsoil, compost, or Biotic Soil Amendment, and creating a loose, crumbly soil structure (tilth) that holds moisture.
